Serving Phoenix, AZ

Proper laser hair removal aftercare is essential for achieving the best results while keeping your skin calm, smooth, and safe—especially in Arizona’s intense sun. Here’s everything you need to know after your laser treatment:

Immediately After Treatment

It’s normal to experience redness and swelling at the treatment site. This usually subsides within 2 hours, but the follicles may remain red or bumpy for up to 10 days.

Your skin may feel similar to a mild sunburn—treat it like one. Use cold aloe vera gel, ice packs, or hydrocortisone cream to soothe any discomfort.

What to Avoid (First 48 Hours)

Avoid excess heat and friction. That means no:

  • Hot showers
  • Saunas or steam rooms
  • Jacuzzis
  • Intense workouts
  • Physical intimacy
  • Sun exposure, especially in Phoenix’s 100°F+ temperatures

Sun Safety Matters

    • Avoid tanning beds and direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks post-treatment.
    • A fresh tan (within 4–6 weeks) can increase your risk of hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation, especially for those with medium to darker skin tones.
    • Self-tanners and spray tans are not safe—they may cause burns, as the pigment can confuse the laser.

Skin Care Guidelines

      • Be gentle with your skin for at least 48 hours.
      • Do not exfoliate physically (scrubs, brushes) for at least 5 days.
      • No retinoids, acids, acne creams, or steroids on the treatment area 1 week before and after.
      • Do not pick or scratch. If itchy, use a topical antihistamine or hydrocortisone.

Antibiotic Warning

If you’ve taken antibiotics in the past 2 weeks, please reschedule your appointment—antibiotics can increase the risk of burns.

Missed or late cancellations under 24 hours will count as a same-day cancellation.

Hair Shedding Is Normal

About 2–3 weeks post-treatment, treated hairs will shed. This is not new growth.

      • Don’t wax, tweeze, or epilate—it can disrupt your results.
      • You may gently exfoliate the shedding hair using a damp washcloth.
      • Shaving is safe after 48 hours.
